Paging Doctor Scandalous...

    <lj:music>Howie Day - Collide</lj:music>

Oh so I totally forgot to mention that I checked out the series premiere of "Grey's Anatomy," the newest doctor show on ABC (it's temporarily, I hope, replacing "Boston Legal")...normally, I don't watch doctor shows--not even E.R., with dreamy George Clooney. But this one looked more like Ally McBealish--as in, yeah we've got medical stuff, but, as Homer Simpson would say, "with sexy results."

It was maybe not as fabulous as the previews made it out to be, but hey, it definitely meets The Desperate Housewives test (dude I am totally revealing the obscene amount of television I watch)--as in, it's better than Desperate Housewives, which is about the lowest I'm willing to go in regular TV-watching experiences. Maybe a Bachelor episode here and there, but nothing religious. I'll definitely be tuning in next week.

Anyhoo, just finished up with my last set of students' oral arguments. One of my students was just AWESOME--he went twice to make up for the fact that our class has fewer students than the opposing side's class, and the second time the judges were SO MEAN (on purpose)--he could've gotten totally hammered by their questioning, but he took it like a gentleman, not phased at all. I'm so proud! Not that I really had anything to do with his success, but at least I can say, "Hey! He's my student!" Dang, I love teaching. Maybe after I finish making piles and piles of money (since, let's be honest, I love, perhaps not money itself, but the things money can buy), I'll volunteer to be a Moot Court instructor, or Legal Research and Writing Instructor. I hear Stanford's program sucks, so maybe I can make it better laff.

Totally wiped out, but I'm gonna do a little bit more reading for Corporations--be responsible yadda yadda. My man is at the moment playing in an intracompany basketball game (so late in the evening!), so I'll just finish this stuff up and maybe watch an Ally McBeal episode until he calls to say goodnight. I like that he plays basketball--kind of in the way that I like how he changes flat tires...there's just something so *manly* about sports, changing tires, etc. Ah yes, deep down, I am truly ingrained with gender stereotypes! Who knows? Maybe I'll just quit law school and become a housewife--I like baking anyway, and cleaning isn't so bad (minus bathroom...peeyoo)...

Yeah right. I'm much better being stubborn and opinionated and anal retentive outside of my own home...and for money!

    <lj:music>Constitutional Law Lecture =*(</lj:music>

Normal blog at www.omgh4x.com/siurant is down, so I've decided to use this space instead for the time being.

Dang, we are having some curaaazzyy weather--yesterday it was beautiful and sunny, even if it was a bit windy, and this morning (to my blow-dried hair's dismay) it was raining cats and dogs. I'm going to have to change out of my present pants-outfit into a skirt, since the bottoms of my slacks are now soaked. Have to dress presentably for my bailiff duties tonight--as a TA for first year Moot Court, I have to do the whole "All rise...The Supreme Court of the United States is now in session blah blah blah..." for their final oral argument. Last night, I watched four of my students argue, and they all had very different styles. All in all, I'm very impressed by the strides they've made since their first oral presentations in class.

Some sad news from yesterday--my first year Torts professor, Francis (Frank) Walsh passed away over the weekend from a massive stroke. He was a very kind man, and had all of that chivalrous, gentlemanly charm of the old days (I think our class calculated that he was about 87). The thing I liked the most about him was that he was still in love with his wife, after over 50 years of marriage.

Had a great weekend...relaxing Friday, watching some shows I had taped, and Saturday was full of excitement of the doggy and food variety. The Lees brought home a new doggy (some sort of lab/pit bull mix) that is super duper cute. When Demian, Steph, Justin and I went to La Fondue, we spent a good chunk of time thinking of names...according to Steph (twinkiechan), they've finally settled on Milo, but we went through a whole host of very enticing names, including David Bowie, Pooey, Mike Tyson, Dino, and some not-so-P.C. names that Demian and I grew very attached to. It was my first time at La Fondue, and let me tell you, I was not adequately prepared. First, the decor was unexpected--very medievalish and dark and sprinkled with Christian paraphernalia...I was expecting a bistro, not Ye Olde Castle of Yore...Second, I had no idea that there would be SO MUCH FOOD...goddamn! Steph warned us to take it easy on the salad, so I only had maybe half of my spinach salad with lemon tarragon dressing, maybe a third...but even then, I knew I was doomed. First was the cheese fondue (we chose the Stinking Rose--a garlicky, winey, swiss cheese mixture...it was good with the bread cubes, but I thought it smelled a little funny...maybe the swiss?), and then MEAT MEAT MEAT...we chose the grilling option (probably the best way to go in terms of food volume), which came with 6 delicious sauces (a horseradish cream sauce, a mango chutney, a teriyaki sauce, a spicy wasabi teriyaki sauce, a barbecue sauce, and a sour cream dip). I was a goner after just a few pieces of meat (the swiss chicken was a delicious, unique option--I couldn't really tell the difference among the rest of the meats in our "Fondue Feast"...I think we ordered Wild Turkey, Savage Duck, Fish Fillet, Filet Mignon and Ostrich Filet Mignon. After the meat course, I frankly thought I was going to die from fullness. But we couldn't stop there! There was, after all, a chocolate fondue left--we selected a Bittersweet Chocolate and Irish Cream mix, which was deeee-licious with the platter of fruit, poundcake, cookie assortment. I gobbled up the dessert, and then gracefully rolled out the door and back to the car, a la Willy Wonky and the Chocolate Factory-style.

On Sunday, I felt full and nauseous almost the entire day--I'm pretty in tune with my body, and I figured it took literally almost 24 hours to digest Saturday's orgy of fondue...it was like my pores were oozing meat, and the mere thought of meat made me feel totally gross. Demian was very sympathetic, and suggested we take a walk down the block to get some fresh air and help the digestive system, which really helped. But I still really couldn't eat anything, except a little something here and there to settle my roiling insides, until dinner time, at which point I had a delicious Chinese dinner at the Lees which was perfect to reconstitute my hedonistic soul. I think I'd return to La Fondue, but probably only for the chocolate fondue...everything else is just toooo much. Man, I need to stop eating when I know I'm full.

Despite all of these adventures, I was able to get some outlining for Professional Responsibility done--I'm trying my hardest to get a bunch of outlining done, but I'm off to Vancouver on Thursday night, so I'm fated to fall even further behind--alas. Ah well, you only live once! Poo on school!

    <lj:music>American Hi-Fi - "Another Perfect Day"</lj:music>

For some reason, I'm feeling very agitated today. Definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning--I had set my alarm for 8 a.m. this morning, but it didn't go off! The only reason I even woke up at all (at 10 a.m.!!!) was because my phone started ringing. When I saw what time it was, my eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets. Ugh. On the bright side, I got almost 10 full hours of sleep. On the not-so-bright side, I had to scramble to get ready, eat breakfast (also unsatisfying, since I have no milk--ate dry raisin bran--ugh), and read all of my Civil Procedure homework. Got to finish the reading, and dash off to campus to get the Employment Discrimination handout I had to read today--read that, and then started briefing the Civ Pro for today. Had to also stop by the Bookstore to buy Employment Discrimination and Property books--was annoyed that there were no new Property books left, only nasty used books. Bought a used book--maybe I'll bring it back tomorrow in case they have new ones. I'm too eager.

Employment Discrimination was first, so went to that--the classroom was PACKED, so I had to settle for a seat at the front--fortunately, Hengameh spotted me, and waved me over, so I sat with her, Grace, and eventually Brendan. The class was uneventful--a lot of review from Crim, actually, regarding statutory interpretation. I could feel my mind wandering.

Class was over in 50 mins, and then went to the Law Cafe with Kamyar and Kim to get a bit of work done--finish off my Civ Pro briefing. Everyone gave me a hard time for doing work while they were being all social, but you gotta go what you gotta do. I've learned my lesson, though--if I want to work, I'll work in the Gold Room, where people aren't socializing so I don't have to deal with the teasing--even if it isn't a big deal.

Finished off the briefing and started reading tomorrow's Civ Pro, and then it was time to head off to Civ Pro. Class was also uneventful, and the room was so packed that people had to sit on the floor, in the aisles. Mind wandered a bit again, but it wasn't as bad as last semester. We're doing jurisdiction now, which is purported to be pretty tough. Was a bit frustrated to find out that Civ Pro will be cancelled next Friday, because I made my interview appointment for that morning specifically so I wouldn't miss Civ Pro--but that's okay I guess. Maybe I'll just skip out on Employment Discrimination next week, so that I don't have to bother coming back up to the city. We'll see. Class finished, and Kamyar and I headed off to the Gold Room to do homework for an hour before hitting up the Y to work out. On the way, we stopped by the library to sign up for Lexis-Nexus and Westlaw classes--they'll be for next Thursday morning. Finished off my Civ Pro homework, got started on Employment Discrimination. Got a few pages into it, and at 5 o'clock we headed to the Y.

Pool was okay--a little gamey looking...not in the best condition. At first there was no one there, which was cool--but then it began getting populated by yucky looking individuals. Bleh. But the water wasn't too cold, and I got a good workout--swam for about a half hour or more--22 laps. The pool is bigger than the pool at home. I can tell it was a good workout because I am SO hungry right now, but I have to resist the urge to snack.

Came back to the apartment, took a shower, heated myself up a Lean Cuisine (Teriyaki Chicken) for dinner while I watched a little bit of TV. Finished reading Employment Discrimination for tomorrow. Almost watched "Friends," but said forget it when I realized my TV has awful reception for NBC. I still need to get the light above my kitchen fixed--it's going to give someone a seizure with all that flickering. I also need:

* Toothpaste
* Milk
* Cheese
* Fruit
* Nail Polish and Nail Polish remover

Instead of relaxing, decided to forge ahead and do Contracts homework for Tuesday. Took longer than it should because I'm feeling restless. Talked to Mama on the phone tonight, and James on AIM. James, Jacquie, Mama, Zander, Kamyar, and I are going to hit up dim sum on Sunday noontime. Tomorrow is the Dave concert (we'll leave on the Bart around 5 p.m.), Saturday is the Opera. Should feel more excited, but I just feel agitated for some reason--Mama could tell. Blehhhh. I guess that's about it for today. See! Nothing out of the ordinary--just undirected annoyedness. Hope I feel better tomorrow.

W00, that'll be refreshing =)

Going to see LOTR III with the kids et al. tomorrow--I heard that the ending drags on for quite a bit, so I will be prepared.

My head hurts a bit (think it might be dehydration) so I guess that's my cue to hit the sack. <lj:music>The Format - "The First Single"</lj:music>

Been listening to "The Format" CD I bought at the Something Corporate concert--that's some good shieeeat. Also really like this underground rapper called "Benefit"--he has some awesome lyrics

"So nice that it's nasty
So bangin' it's bustin'
So sweet that it's sick
So dope it's disgustin'"

and

"I've got the deaf people hearin this
Blind people seein this
Paralyzed from the neck down still feelin this"

So good.

Also, great new Dave Matthews song I came across called Angel:

I call you up
You pick up
You call my bluff
On the cards of love
You hold too close
Your hands to your chest
I can't read your eyes
But I confess

It's lonely far from you
Even when you're right by me
It's only why I wait for you
To take my hand...

Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I come after you like I do? I love you...
Whatever you are... I swear
You'll be my angel
You'll...

I play my cards
The best I can
But I lose my luck
When your not here
My Darling heart
Won't ya please give in?
I may be strong but I want ya back again...

When your not here
Oh its hard to pretend
Its all alright again
When your not here love
It's hard to pretend
It's all alright
Still, why do I beg like a child for your candy
Why do I run after you like I do I love you

Whatever you are...
I swear
You'll be my angel...
You'll--

Watch the deck, Count your cards
It makes no sense that I'm always losin
When you're gone...

Why do I beg like a child for your candy
Why do I come after you like I do I love you
Whatever you are
I swear
You'll be my angel
You'll--
When you're gone...

* * * * *

Civ Pro tomorrow. My hand kills. My brain is shot through with holes. I am ready. Or not. Here I come.

Dude OUCH. My hand hurts like a mofo from trying to cram a 27 page outline into the 10 blank pages in the back of my Civil Procedure Rules book. I've been at it for like 2.5 hours, and I'm only halfway through too. Good lord. That'll be a task for me tomorrow to finish, but for now, I'm going to stop before I impair the most valuable thing I have next to my brain for finals week--my typing hands.

Not much else happened tonight, except for going up to see Aaron and his twin brother David to talk about Civil Procedure and hang out a bit. I am very bad at darts. I poked the dart into their wall O_o

Studied like whoa today. Taking a practice test at 10 a.m. tomorrow. I am in dread.

That's it for now.
Pity my fingers.
My poor, poor fingers.

P.S. God, the UCSF library is beautiful. And Pluto's has pretty damn good steak sandwiches. With honey dijon mustard. Mmmmmmm, dijon mustard.

P.P.S. Why does San Francisco have to have such steep hills?

    <lj:music>Christina Aguilera - The Voice Within</lj:music>

Apparently, my pirate name is "Mad Jenny Kidd." Don't ask. I am procrastinating like nobody's business. I couldn't get myself to actually sit down and start studying until around 5 p.m. this afternoon, and that only lasted about three hours--the whole "study" time was punctuated by me getting distracted by browsing the internet. Oh maaaan, Fifth Floor has a new menu up, and Aqua has a new, non-ghetto website. Will you just take a look at that???

Now THAT is what I call

King Salmon "En Papillote"
Lemon Potato Croquettes, Cipollini Onions, Warm Dill & Caviar Cream

*Droool* I got through Pleadings today, and will be studying Discovery and Adjudication tomorrow at the UCSF library with Hengameh, Adam and Kamyar--Hengameh's stopping by my apartment at 9:20, and then we're going to park it to Glen Park, where Adam'll pick us all up and drive us to the library. We're also planning on running through a bunch of practice tests, to get a feel for the material. I also would like to run through the so-called "Outline from God" to make sure I haven't missed any policy issues, and so I'll be prepared if any come up.

Today was a *beautiful* day outside--so different from two nights ago, which was mad crazy stormin'. Woke up at 6 a.m., and it was pitch black outside. Dragged myself out of bed so I could get to my Crim Exam, which went--if I do say so myself--quite well. Hoping that that will be reflected in the final grade, so I shall reserve ultimate judgment for that time.

Watched an episode of American Dreams after my exam (soooo good--I cried!) while da boys (A, K, & T) played ball downstairs. They all came back upstairs to use the shower and then left to attempt to study--hopefully, they were more successful that I. My brain just can't seem to focus--can't believe I only have one more exam left. But I can't let my brain die on me before I beat that exam into a bloody pulp, so focus! focus!

Borrowed "Bend It Like Beckham" from Miriam tonight---suuuuch a good movie! Will probably watch it in the next couple of days. Watched "The O.C." tonight too--was decent, but not fabulous. Can't wait to get home and just sooooak up the warm glow of the television. After I finish Christmas shopping. And more job apps. Good sweet jesus. Still so much to do, and so little time...or IS there?

I think I'm a bit loopy tonite. Gonna hit the sack soon. God, only two more days of studying and I'm FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE as a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIRD...is the next best THIIIING TOOOOO BEEEEEING, FREEE as a BIIIIRD!

Gotta love those Beatles.
Peace out.

    <lj:music>Sarah McLachlan - Answer</lj:music>

Okay, so I've been doing my best to keep this cold/flu away, and so far it's been working *knock on wood*...I'm just going to keep myself nice and hydrated, pumped full of echinacea, and gonna go to bed early tonight in anticipation for my Crim exam tomorrow morning, bright and early at 8:30 a.m. It's gonna be a 3.5 hour exam, so I've definitely got to keep my stamina up.

Took a practice test with Hengameh today, and thought it went pretty well. Went with Kamyar, Adam and Hengameh to Quizno's (actually, we stopped off at the Mexican place first so they could get that awesome quesidilla castillito I love so much, but I wanted to get some soup, so we just took the Mexican food to Quizno's and ate there while I got my broccoli cheddar soup with cornbread...mmmm, cornbread).

Came back here (the boys went over to K's place to do laundry, study a bit more, and relax), and looked over the answer to the practice test--I'm doing pretty well with issue-spotting. Looking over one last practice test, and then studied a bit more. Chatted with Mama on the phone for a long while, got some stuff off my chest, talked to Papa on the phone a bit, and just made myself a turkey cranberry quesidilla--it turned out a bit soggy this time (too much cranberry sauce!), but still decent. I am sooo full right now.

Gonna go rest up a bit, watch some TV, go to bed early. Mama, Jacquie and James are supposed to stop by the apartment on their way up to bring James to school. His last final is tomorrow, and then he'll be heading home on Wednesday. Damn, I can't believe I'll be done in 4 days. Where does the time go?

And why does my mini Christmas tree insist on leeeeaning AWAY from the source of light????

    <lj:music>John Mayer - Wheel</lj:music>

Hokay--so today, I have been drinking water, like, non-stop (in an effort to delay the inevitable flu-like symptoms I fear are approaching). As an unfortunate, albeit predictable, result, I have been peeing like a madwoman.

Didn't take a practice test under timed conditions today--felt too knackered. Instead, after reviewing my notes, I met the boys + Hengameh at Subway (I just brought along a "Wellness" Odwalla, jam-packed with echinacea...not as good as the C Monster, but that's okay). We then headed back to the library--I *needed* to get out of my room, which I've been dwelling in like a mountain troll for the past couple of days. Went over a practice test--I'm at least getting better at issue spotting. Tomorrow, Hengameh and I are meeting to take a practice test at 10 a.m. so I can practice writing under pressure.

Oh, so as expected, Mr. Judge Man didn't hire me--got a letter in the mail today. At least he was prompt! Surprisingly, I wasn't too disappointed. Other fishies in the sea and all that--need to make my applications for the U.S. Attorney's office. That would be super cool.

Got back to the apartment at 5 p.m.--was hungry, and wanted the comfort of my lovely couch. Studied some more until now--planning to watch mebbe a couple of TV shows and then hit the sack early. One can only study so much. Damn this exam is making me nervous.

Had leftover spaghetti for dinner, a square of mah jai.

There's a girl that goes here that annoys me. She thinks she is so freakin' smart, and actually SAYS so to everyone she meets. And thus far, I have seen no evidence of this brilliance. >_< She is unbelievable.

Dude. I want me some pie. Some pie and some pampering.

So the one day I decide to actually update the livejournal (after months of neglect), the computer dies before I get to post it. Sweet, sweet irony. (Or is it bitter? I forget)

So, rather than recap (since this is more about purging than informing), I will highlight some quick points:

* Crim sucks. But thanks to the funny dog's advice, I've decided to go ahead and take a practice test tomorrow after all. I had planned on taking it at 10 a.m., but now am planning on deferring it until 3 p.m. Adam & Kamyar may or may not join me--Adam thinks he just wants to go through practice tests to spot issues, Kamyar may not be ready by 3. They will study in the library til then in any case, and I will stick here in my room.

* The heater in my room now works--it makes a hissing sound.

* Anxiety abounds, can't wait until break.

* If I eat one more slice of pizza, I am going to explode (said the girl who still has three slices of CPK/Pizza Hut sitting in her fridge). Ugh.

* God, I need to work out. But that Cherry Garcia is SO GOOD.

* M&Ms rock my world. 'Specially the peanut ones.

    <lj:music>Michelle Branch - "One of These Days"</lj:music>

About time I updated this puppy! Still sick--although it seems to be leveling off now. I seem to be in this state of minor sore throat (worse in the morning and at night), and hot flashes--Travis, cool Stanford guy in my LWR--suggested that perhaps I was hitting menopause early...since I seem to like to get things done early. LOL! He's a funny guy. For instance, he told me the following lame joke yesterday:

A man and a giraffe walk into a bar. They start pounding back drinks, and the giraffe gets completely wasted, and passes out on the floor. The man has a couple more drinks, and then gets up to leave. The bartender says to the man, "Hey, are you just gonna leave that lyin' there?" And the man says, "Hey man, that's no lion! That's a giraffe!"

WAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH.

Man, that's lame.

Okay, so what else did I do today? So yeah, this afternoon I went to a panel on the Statutory Electives course we get to choose for next quarter--we get to choose between Tax, Immigration, Employment Discrimination, and two different types of Environmental Law. Going in, I thought I was totally going to sign up for Immigration, and that there was no way in hell I was going to do either Tax or Environmental Law. Woo, have I *ever* changed my mind. The Immigration prof was some boring ass sheezy (he didn't even talk about what the course would cover!!! He just kept saying he was going to make us do a paper ugh), whereas the Employment Discrimination one looked like it would have some awesome content (and up-to-date too). Also, the prof for the Environmental Law class sounded really interesting. Even the Tax prof made his class sound interesting. It's a lottery system, so I'm going to have to rank my choices--I bet Employment Discrimination will fill up real fast, but I'm going to put it as my first choice anyway. Then Environmental Law, first section, then Tax, then the second Environmental Law, then Immigration. Dude, what a disappointment. Ah well! Oh God, and next quarter is Moot Court. Scared out of my wits about that, but I know it'll be good for me.

After the panel, I came back home to do some work. Left my door open to let the draft in, and Sam, the guy who lives across from me, stopped by just to shoot the breeze--he was marveling at the size of my studio which is literally twice the size of his efficiency. Poor guy. Went back to the apartment to do some more work, and then Kamyar came over to pick up his Civ Pro book after he was done with his LWR class (which was driving him nuts today). Hung out for awhile, listened to him vent about his retarded LWR, and then he left to go home and do homework.

Heated myself up some sticky rice and ribs, compliments of mi familia, continued working on my Torts Outline (yaarrr!!!). Ooo--had some of the peach sorbet James bought me--OMG so tasty I died. Of happiness. ^_^ Took an hour break to watch last week's "Smallville." Dude, it feels so weird to watch TV--I haven't watched ANY TV for over a month, and it's funny, but I don't even miss it. I have so many shows though on these tapes that I gotta get through. Two weeks worth O_o

Continued working on Torts, and finally finished the section on Negligence. Thusly, I am basically all caught up on Torts. I will outline Causation in class on Friday, and plan to finish updating the three outlines I have so far by Saturday. Next week: Civil Procedure! Arrrgghhh!!!

That's all for today.

And now, it is sleepytime, so I will go thusly.

    <lj:music>Eric Clapton - "Wonderful Tonight"</lj:music>

Been awhile since I've update the LiveJournal, so decided I'd log on and debrief. This has been a loooong week. Started out with the appearance of first 15, then 30 extremely itchy, huge, red, and unsightly mosquito bites. It was so freaking hot outside though, that it was either cook to death, or have my blood sucked from me slowly, painfully, itchily. Eventually, I opted for the cookage. The girls on my floor suffered along with me, though--misery loves company, you know. The weather has turned cold, wet, and shatty now, so it's not necessary to keep my screenless windows closed anymore.

What else--second memo fact pattern was handed out this week--two seconds after handing in memo number 1. So much research. All in all? I'd say my research group and I spent 7 hours at the library this week. So sad! But let's get into specifics, for today at least:

Woke up at 7:30 a.m., couldn't go back to sleep--hadn't gotten to bed until 2:30, so suffice to say, I was tired as n00ts. It's been like that all week, though not so drastic. Was averaging about 7 hours per night--doable, but not for extended periods of time. Tonight I'm going to go straight to bed and get my sleeping groove on--try to stave off the cold I can feel is just itching in my throat to infect my whole body. Can't have that, now can I!

Went to Torts--holy god, we only covered three cases today. One case took a whole hour! WTF! Took the hour break between classes to read and brief Torts homework for next Tuesday, then went to Civ Pro DGL (got a good fill-in-the-blank outline), and then Civ Pro--another Super Session. Ugh. Today's lecture was freaking all over the place--I really couldn't understand shat, especially in my drowsy condition. Oh well. After Civ Pro, the class that would not end, I went with my research crew, minus Adam, to the library to follow up on research that we did on Wednesday--turns out, goddammit, that the great decisions we found were later overturned. But after about another two hours, we got some good cases, and we outta there before seven.

Came home and made myself a weird, but good burrito with spinach, tomatoes, jack cheese, and leftover spaghetti meat sauce (I ran out of noodles!). It was actually quite decent. I freaking love that spaghetti sauce. Yum.

Wrote my Civ Pro courtroom visit Memo after that, read the new cases we found and wrote up the citations. Papa called tonight, so I talked to him for about 10-15 minutes. Conversation was goodly. I'm all done with work tonight, so I think I'll do some fun reading for maybe an hour and then go to bed.

Tomorrow, I'm going to start working on outlining--Crim Law first, then if I have time, Contracts. Talked to Giancarlo tonight--having dinner with him tomorrow evening, around 5. He's coming up on BART, and I'll meet him at the station I think--it's right underneath the Civic Center plaza. I wanted to go to MOMA with them, but don't have the time. Want to get my study on. Sunday, gotta go to the farmer's market--ran out of fruit. I better get myself some milk too. And I'm running out of meat/protein products. Ahh, the malnutrition of law students. Kamyar's got to go to the library to research on Sunday, so he's going to come over after he's done and study--he's better at Civ Pro than me, so we're going to work on filling out the Civ Pro outline we got from the DGL.

Wahh, work-packed weekend, but at least the week is ovah!

    <lj:music>All American Rejects - "Last Song"</lj:music>

OMG, I am so knackered. Even though I went to bed at a decent hour last night--a little past 1 o'clock, after chatting a bit with Kamyar online (wahah he makes me laugh)--I couldn't sleep until 5:30 a.m. My heart and brain were racing, probably because of that huge coconut pearl milk tea I had late that evening. *Bonk!* I should know better! Damn my sensitivity to caffeine! In any case, I then woke up at 7:30 a.m., and decided that I wasn't going to fall back asleep in the next thirty minutes. Oi, I feel like a zombie today. @_@

Had two hours of Torts first thing this morning. Then dashed off to meet my T.A. for LWR to go over his revisions of my first memo--fortunately, no substantial revisions. He just suggested adding some headings, tightening up the language here and there, and correcting some of the citations. I finished the revision tonight, but it's still a page over the limit, so I'm sending it to my prof in the hopes that he'll give me some more specific suggestions over the weekend regarding how I can cut it down even more. I don't know though--it's pretty bare bones as it is. As much as lawyers value conciseness, they probably wouldn't want to sacrifice completeness. Well, anyway, this memo writing business is fu-un. I'd love to do this over the summer working for some firm, or for a judge or something.

What else? Oh, so then I went to the Internet Technology Venture Group (a kind of cyberlaw group here) meeting. It was aight. They had fruit and cheese, so that was lovely. Then off to Civ Pro discussion group, then a two hour SUPER SESSION of Civ Pro. Given my fuzzy state of mind, I'm surprised I survived.

Came back, read some Torts (I'm saving the briefing for tomorrow when I'm actually alive), cooked me up a tasty tomato, spinach, jack cheese quesidilla (just toasted that puppy on an ungreased frying pan, and oooh, so delicious and gooey). Finished the LWR memo revision, like I mentioned.

Oh, so yesterday, I went to the APALSA Buddy Reception, which was held at Edinburgh Castle, a pub about 6 blocks away. Walked over with Michelle and Miriam (hapa girl), who both live on my floor. Fortunately for me, no one was checking IDs. Met a nice guy named Jonah, and chatted with him about law school stuff. He walked back with Michelle, Miriam and me, and we laughed about Marky Mark and Antonio Banderas. Saw him again today in ITVG, since he's apparently the treasurer. Ohhh, and yesterday, I got the email and phone number of that cute 3L I see occasionally ^_^

It's still early, but I'm dying here, so I think I'll just wrap up--watch X2 mayhaps, and then go straight to bed. Tomorrow is another day! Can't wait to go to Great America on Sunday--gonna be the bomb shizzle.

Funny dog says: "You are not alone, I am always with you."

    <lj:music>eastmoutainsouth - "so r u 2 me"</lj:music>

H00rj for me! I've finished studying for the evening--it still took way longer than expected (I didn't get a chance to start doing some outlining for Torts and Civ Pro, but that's okay...I'll try to get that done on Friday and Saturday).

So this morning, slept in a bit, went down to the farmer's market and went wild--bought tomatoes, a yellow bell pepper, six apples, three bunches grapes (green, and red flame), and bag of spinach.  Washed all that up, stuck it in the fridge (it's now full like whoa), and commenced showering so that I could get my butt to class on time.  Chatted with Nick (who lives across from me) on the way to class--poor kid's cell phone died for some reason, and his computer was acting up this morning, so he lost his LWR homework that was due today O_o  Just before we got to class, he said, "Man, I really hope the prof doesn't call on me today."  And guess what?  Yeah, the prof called on him today.  Fortunately, he did just fine--I think he had a chance to review the cases just before class started.  ^_^;;

Had Torts discussion section right after Contracts--the DG leader seemed much more competent today, so I'm hopeful. I'm gonna need this DG for Torts.

Came home, read a bit more (I think the reason all this hw is taking so long is because I feel so restless these past couple of days, and so have been procrastinating in between--damn that quizilla.com!!!), went to yoga. Simona worked me extra hard today, so by the end of class, I felt all stretched out--taller even hehe. She says I'm improving, though! Yay!

Had some spaghetti, cheese, and grapes for dinner. Worked on Contracts and Civ Pro.

Glad tomorrow's Thursday--finally, a break from the monotony. Go Antonio Banderas. In the immortal words of Horatio Sanz: "Too sexy! Too sexy!" I think I'm more motivated to do work when I know I get to do something fun that day.

Had a fun AIM conversation tonight with the guy I sit next to in Contracts--he's so distracting wah hehe. At least I'm making friendly-like with people at law school--I really haven't gotten to know very many people on more than a superficial basis. Of course, it's my fault because I'm such a study hermit, but das okay! You gotta study when you gotta study!

*Ponder* I'm sad since Erizbesu can't make it to GA on Sunday...ah well, let the hunt continue!

Off to read some more "DaVinci Code" before I get flogged...

<lj:music>Jason Mraz - "You and I Both" (Check it out!)</lj:music>

W00, finally done with my briefs for Torts. Given, they're not due until Friday, but still--never hurts to get ahead. Well, maybe it hurts a little =)

Today was my loooong day--Torts in the morning, then discussion section for Contracts (er, not all that informative...), then Civ Pro...and then LWR. Dude, talk about a tense class. At least it wasn't me on the hot seat today. But man, our instructor can be condescending, and makes such unnecessarily incendiary comments that one of the guys in my class totally laid the smackdown on instructor. On the surface, it was a joke, but everyone knew it was an insult. And everyone knew it was warranted, too. G'lawd. At least I can tell that the prof now respects what I have to say, since I clearly know my shiznit--that's what happens when you get ahead! But in acknowledging that I was well-prepared, the prof insulted everyone else--NOT a good thing, totally uncalled for.

ANYway, other than that, a very uneventful day. Made a non-fetus omelet today with jack cheese, red bell peppers, and tomatoes. Got to get to the farmer's market tomorrow to get some apples, grapes, and spinach. Make me some tasty quesidillas this week, interpersed with the leftover spaghetti sauce and pasta I've got (mmmm--I LOVE the way my family makes spaghetti--it's so sweet...and everyone knows I've got a sweet tooth).

I re-read my favorite passage from Nietzsche (actually, from all of philosophy, period) today. It still gives me chills, and represents everything that gives me happiness, hope, faith in my life:

From Nietzsche's "The Gay Science"

341.

The greatest weight.— What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you in your loneliest loneliness and say to you: "This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh and everything unutterably small or great in your life will have to return to you, all in the same succession and sequence—even this spider and this moonlight between the trees, and even this moment and I myself. The eternal hourglass of existence is turned upside down again and again—and you with it, speck of dust!"— Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him: "You are a god and never have I heard anything more divine!" If this thought gained possession of you, it would change you as you are or perhaps crush you; the question in each and every thing, "Do you desire this once more, and innumerable times more?" would lie upon your actions as the greatest weight! Or how well disposed would you have to become to yourself and to life to crave nothing more fervently than this ultimate eternal confirmation and seal?

So deep. So true. Foshizzle my rizzle.

    <lj:music>John Mayer - "New Deep"</lj:music>

So today was the big game! After an uneventful day of classes (Crim Law and Contracts today) and working like whoa to finish up the first draft of my LWR memo, Chowie picked me up to head over to Vanessa and Yan's place before the game. Vanessa and Yan are such sweet girls--they have a fantastic place right by the Bay, and just a couple blocks from Pac Bell park. (And it turns out that Vanessa dated Greg in their freshman year at Stanford--small world!)

Anyway, the game was freaking awesome. Even though we were literally in the last row back (yeah nosebleed section!), we still had a fabulous view of the field and of the Bay--so beautiful. The moon tonight was a weird orange color, which was cool too. In the first inning, both J.T. Snow AND Barry Bonds hit solo homers--so cool. The rest of the game went by pretty fast, and at one scary point, the Padres were leading by two...But since the Giants are so fantastic, they caught up and passed the Padres in the bottom of the 8th, and won 8-7. My only complaint is that it was FREAKING COLD! Good thing Vanessa and Yan brought blankets--plus, the garlic fries were a definite plus.

Ahhh, so fun to cheer along with everyone and get excited about baseball again. Catching up with Chowie about the last week was a blast, and getting to know Vanessa and Yan was a treat--they are definitely cool gals.

Oh man, it's late and I better hit the sack--long day tomorrow, and Torts in the earlai hours of the morn'.
